Sony LT30p Mint has been in the rumormill but this is no more, the phone exists, and will be launched in the last week of August, I say this because I saw a tweet somewhere on my timeline with Benchmark results, made me get curious and I did a search to see what else is available. I landed on this youtube video that was talking about the features of the phone without actually revealing what the phone looks like.
But we can rest happy, since Eldar Mutarzin, a blogger and industry insider already did a first look blog post giving details of what it feels like using this phone. I envy this guy, he gets these things waaay before they are in the market and has the advantage of telling us what we are going to experience when we finally get the review devices, or as consumers from the shops. Xperia LT30p Mint is a high end device by any means, and could be Sony’s turning point in the industry, that’s if all other factors in influencing mobile phone consumption in the global market also come to their advantage.
Let’s do a walkthrough of the phone specs gathered so far.
- Android Ice cream Sandwich
- 13MP AF camera, LED flash
- Micro-SIM
- 4.3″ screen with 1280 x 720 HD screen
- non-removable back
- Wi-Fi 802.11
- Bluetooth 4.0
- microUSB
- 1.5GHz Dual core Qualcomm Krait MSM8960 processor
- 1GB RAM
- GPU
- 16GB internal storage
So far what is not yet clear is the battery capacity, microSD limit, but it would be safe to assume 32GB and other nitties.
The phone is great, but cannot stand tall in comparison with the industry stalwarts, Samsung Galaxy S III which leads in the benchmarks and the HTC One X which comes second, but the fact that it came with ICS out of the box for the prototype Mobile Review have, means this Sony flagship phone might actually get somewhere. Let’s see whether anything will change between now and launch.
