Smartphone users are capable of viewing high resolution photos and videos. This demands high read/write bandwidth from their devices. The new 64 GB Samsung microSD card reaches a maximum sequential read speed of 70 MB/s and write of 104MB/s. With its high bandwidth, the user can play back HD videos at 1080p resolution. The card has been showcased at the IFA 2012 as the highest capacity container in Samsung’s microSD Pro memory card series. According to Samsung, the card is shielded against magnetic fields and X-rays, and has support for the UHS-1 standard. And the card is water resistant.
The 64GB microSD Pro targets high end smartphones. It uses 20nm class toggle DDR 2.0 devices. The microSD Pro series will be available in October but the price is yet to be announced.
