Airtel will be selling the Galaxy S 4 in all their shops once the shipments are delivered, that’s in some 140 outlets in Africa. Airtel talks of early May time of arrival to the shops although no specific dates have been mentioned. In a press release they sent in, they will be giving customers 3 months “free data plans” if you purchase the Galaxy S 4.
Airtel Africa Chief Marketing Officer Andre Beyers said that Airtel has responded to customer demands for the Samsung Galaxy S 4 and that they are very excited to make it a ground-breaking phone available in Africa. He added that customers will be able to take full advantage of the Galaxy S 4 device features thanks to the 3.75G network. According to him, Samsung smartphones generate twenty times more data than feature phones.
George Ferreira, Samsung Africa Vice President and COO says that Samsung is glad about the partnership with Airtel to bring Samsung flagship phone to Airtel customers across Africa.
The Samsung Galaxy S 4 reached 10 million pre-orders the first two weeks after the announcement.

- The three months free data is actually 21GB data.
- The price for the Galaxy S 4 will be Kshs 65,000 after launch.
- Pre-orders are available at the pre-order site for Kshs 57,000 if you pay at the shops and Kshs 53,000 if you pay via Airtel Money.
- This payment is lump-some, no deposit unlike with Safaricom pre-order which has a 15,000 deposit and the rest payable on collection.
