Tujuane tariff

Orange Kenya has just announced that the recently rolled-out Tujuane Tariff has gone permanent. I am not sure how long it’s going to be permanent as it happens often that billing models change after long. Safaricom once pulled this with the night calls that were made “permanent” at 1 shilling for a few months then went up to 2 shillings.

So what’s permanent at Orange?

SMS on the tariff will be billed at Kshs 1, on-net voice billed at Kshs 2 a minute and Kshs 3 for off-net voice.

“On our network, a call from an Orange mobile line to any landline in Kenya is an on-net call charged at KSh. 2 per minute.” “In a price sensitive market, many users hesitate to make a call from their mobile phone to a landline.” “We are assuring our customers they can do so at the same cost as Orange-to-Orange.” “This is just one example of the value that we believe our subscribers will experience better with this new, attractive permanent tariff.” Said Orange CEO Mickael Ghossein.
