Safaricom’s Digital Communication and Social Media Strategy Manager Brian Mung’ei, will be exiting the Kenyan telecommunications behemoth later this month as per reliable information reaching us.

Mr Mung’ei has been at Safaricom for close to 4 years now where he started off as a principal officer in-charge of digital and social media. He has been instrumental in rolling several out award-winning and standout digital campaigns and impactful projects such as the ‘This Is My Kenya‘ campaign and the recently launched mySafaricom app.

It is during Mr Mung’ei’s stint at the Waiyaki Way-based company that we also saw increased and more structured engagement with bloggers and online/social media influencers.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Mr Mung’ei graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Software Engineering from Kenyatta University and has a career spanning over 8 years in the digital communication space. He is arguably one of Kenya’s leading digital strategists and is well respected in new media strategy and communication circles.

We tried to reach out to Mr Mung’ei on the matter and to also know what his next move is but he’s yet to respond as of the time of publishing this.
