The latest Android distribution figures from Google show that Android Nougat has made a few steps forward and is now installed in over 2% of all phones running Android, 2.8% to be exact. This number may seem really small but seeing that just two months ago, Nougat was running on just 0.9% of all Android devices, it feels like a step forward.
Last month, Nougat stood at 1.8% while Marshmallow grew to 30.7%. This month’s stats show that Marshmallow is at 31.3%, which isn’t surprising seeing that OEMs are still insisting on releasing devices running Marshmallow in 2017! *cough* Huawei GR5 (2017) *cough* Anyway, the star of the show is Nougat, since it’s what we are all looking forward to experiencing, if you haven’t yet joined th 2% category.
Here’s the complete breakdown of figures that Google released:

[…] Android Nougat is barely running on 3% of all Android devices, but that won’t deter mother Google from moving on to the next version of Android. Android O, we are yet to get the official name, however, Hiroshi Lockheimer, Senior VP of Android did tease what could be the name of the next Android version in a tweet, a while back. […]
[…] Last month (March), we were at 2.8 percent, which to be honest is a good lead forward. However, seeing that Lollipop 5.0 and 5.1 combine to have the largest share of the pie at 32 percent, is quite worrying. […]
