You probably know Truecaller, the app that solved that problem of identifying unknown callers and thanks to that, it is being used by over a 100 million users globally.
Today, the company has gone further by announcing that they have now made a redesign of the Android app which adds new features and the integration with Google Duo.
Redesigned Android app
Truecaller for Android has been given a refresh where according to the company, it has brought new features. The first one being tied to SMS and now Truecaller will allow you filter out spam messages. We all get spam messages from time to time and now True caller will be able to let you filter them. This is done by integrating their other app, True Messenger with Truecaller as TechCrunch reported.
The next feature is flash messaging where Truecaller will allow you to send predefined messages to another Truecaller users for various scenarios like you’re on your way or you’re i distress.
Google Duo Integration
Truecaller has now added Google Duo integration to the app. As you know, Google Duo is the search giant’s app that lets you make or receive video calls with ease.
“With valuable partners like Google, we are excited to take the next step in our journey, bringing all your mobile communications under one roof and giving you the safest, most efficient and most convenient experience possible without having to switch back and forth,” Nami Zarringhalam, Truecaller’s Co-founder said.
“With this Truecaller integration, we’re able to bring a better video calling experience to millions of users.” Amit Fulay, Head of Duo at Google was quoted as saying.
Now according to Truecaller, this integration with Google Duo will be available in the coming months on the Android and iOS apps and users will be able to opt in or out if they wish.
