Microsoft has an event today at 4:30pm EAT which as shown on their Twitter account, it has been dubbed “Learn what’s next.” The event seems to be focused on education at the moment if you check out the event calendar, but it seems they may have a surprise in store for today.
A Twitter user by the name Walking Cat shared several images of what looks like the next Surface Book. Microsoft stunned the world in October of 2015 when they announced the Surface Book, which was their first fully fledged laptop that a price that made it a direct competitor to Apple’s Macbook Pro.
Apparently the ‘Surface Laptop’ as the person calls it, still retains the 13.5 inch PixelSense display with a resolution of 3.4 million pixels. It also weighs 2.78 pounds and has a wedge design akin to the Macbook Air where it is 14.47mm thick at the back and 9.9mm at the front.
The Surface Laptop will also come in 4 colours (Burgundy, Cobalt Blue, Graphite Gold and Platinum) and there will be an Alcantara covered keyboard (Alcantara is a material used in Ferraris by the way).

The port selection on the laptop also looks pretty limited as on the right, you can see the magnetic charging dock and on the left, you can see what looks like a USB type A port, a mini DisplayPort and what looks like an audio jack.
Walking Cat also says that the Surface Laptop will run Windows 10S, which could be part of the announcement Microsoft would announce today.
We have to wait for the announcement which will begin later today to get more information about this new hardware and the ‘ ‘new’ Windows 10S.’
Any SIM? Or are we stuck with WiFi 📶
This is a full laptop, no chance for SIM card.
[…] Earlier today, photos of a “Surface Laptop” were leaked on Twitter which was kind of strange since we know that Microsoft already has a laptop of sorts, the Surface Book. […]
