Huawei P20 LiteHaving spent some quality time with the Huawei P20 Lite over the weekend, it is hard to give this phone a cold shoulder. The P20 Lite is the budget offering of the company’s flagship line for 2018. Before we get to what’s impressive about the phone, let’s have a quick breakdown of the specifications:

  • 5.84″ FHD+ Display (19:9 aspect ratio)
  • Android 8.0 Oreo
  • HiSilicon Kirin 659 Processor
  • 64GB Internal Storage + 4GB RAM
  • Dual 16 MP + 2 MP Camera
  • 16MP Selfie Camera
  • 3000mAh battery with USB-C Fast Charging

Design

First item on the list is the design of the P20 Lite. This phone is blatantly a copy of the iPhone X and Huawei is not ashamed of it. The notch, the camera placement, the UI to some extent are all inspired by Apple’s latest phone. The materials used are premium and the phone is a looker but whether you like the design or not, is entirely up to how you feel about the iPhone X.

Cameras

The P20 Lite has three cameras in total. Two on the back and one on the front. The second 2MP lens on the back is solely for the purpose of depth sensing and is used when taking portrait images. The images produced by the P20 lite are sufficient and seeing that most of you just need good looking Instagram shots, then you will not have a problem.

You may have noticed that the front camera has a 16MP camera. The P20 lite seems to focus on selfie prowess and the images produced are well, impressive at best.

So, do you like Instagram filters? You know, the dogs and other weird things? Well, the P20 Lite has those inbuilt and truth is, they work pretty good. The filters are applied well on your face and they add that little extra joy of owning the P20 Lite, especially for heavy users of such.
