The 2018 staging of Connected ICT Innovation Awards will mark a decade since the fair was first celebrated. The program, which will be held at Bomas of Kenya from 22nd to 24th October, was officially launched earlier today by Kenyaβs ICT Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru.
Summarily, Connected Kenya targets to appreciate works put forth by young Kenyan innovators and entrepreneurs that have created new ICT solutions. This will add up to over 45 ICT-based products and services that have been prized since the competition was launched.
The summit it also a meeting space for top corporate executives, stakeholders and ICT industry who shed more light on emerging trends and innovations in Kenyaβs ICT market. More than 1000 delegates across the East African region are expected to grace the event.
Speaking during the launch, the CS lauded the role of technology and how it will be leveraged to achieve the goals defined by the Big 4 Agenda.

Technology has a significant role to play in the Big 4 and I look forward to seeing how we can innovate across manufacturing, healthcare, housing, and food securityβ ICT CS Joe Mucheru said during the launch event which was held at the Intercontinental Hotel in Nairobi.
Also present was Telkom Enterprise Divisionβs Head Kris Senanu. The telco is the title sponsor for 2018βs Connected Summit whose theme is Building for Prosperity.
