OPPO has announced its plans to launch the Reno 12 series for the Kenyan market on August 22nd 2024 in Nairobi. Like its previous iterations, the Reno 12 will contain two variants namely the Oppo Reno 12 5G and Oppo Reno 12 F 5G.

Although the retail prices for the smartphones haven’t been confirmed, we can assume that they will be in the midrange segment, based on the specs and the prices for the same phones internationally.

“This is an exciting time for the OPPO brand as we launch the Reno12 series in the Kenyan market. This launch marks a pivotal moment for OPPO as we continue to push new boundaries with regard to technology. We have partnered with GenAI industry leaders to enable us to democratise AI. Our vision is to empower mobile phone users across OPPO’s value chain to experience the power of AI and the Reno12 series is one significant step towards this vision” said Fredrique Achieng, PR manager, OPPO Kenya.

Oppe Reno 12 5G sports a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with 1200 nits of maximum brightness. It is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Energy (4nm) processor paired with 8GB and 12GB RAM options. As for storage, you can choose between 256GB and 512GB.

The rear camera module contains three lenses; 50MP, 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro sensor. The front panel houses a 32MP selfie camera. As for power, the phone packs a 5000mAh battery that supports 80W wired charging as well as reverse charging.

As for the Reno 12F 5G, it comes with a 6.67-inch AMOLED display panel. The device houses a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 (6nm) chipset. You can get the phone in two RAM options; 8GB or 12GB with storage coming in 256GB and 512GB variants.

The rear camera setup is identical to its sibling’s as well as the front-facing camera. The design though, is very different as the Reno 12F comes in a circular module. A 5000mAh battery powers up the phone with 45W wired charging and reverse wired charging support as well.
