Australian smartphone brand Fulgo Mobile has appointed veteran communications strategist Muthoni Wachira as its new Country Manager for Kenya.
With over 14 years of experience leading brand and communication strategies across media, politics, and corporate sectors, Wachira’s appointment marks a strategic move as Fulgo sets its sights on deeper regional penetration.
She’s known for launching some of Kenya’s most impactful brand campaigns and now steps into a leadership role that blends market insight with global tech ambitions.
As Country Manager, Wachira will oversee Fulgo Mobile’s Kenyan operations, staff, partnerships, and program execution while also supporting the company’s broader East African footprint.
She will serve as the key liaison with local authorities, media, and stakeholders, ensuring that Fulgo’s global mission aligns with regional realities.
“I’m excited to drive Fulgo’s vision in Kenya and the region, and to collaborate with industry partners to unlock new opportunities for growth and innovation,” she said. “This is more than just tech, it’s about transforming digital access and experience.”
Fulgo Mobile, an Australian-owned smartphone and accessories manufacturer, is relatively new to the African market but brings with it ambitions to disrupt the mid-range and entry-level device segments. The company positions itself as a user-centric brand focused on innovation, durability, and affordability.
As smartphone adoption in Africa continues to climb, Fulgo joins a competitive but opportunity-rich space dominated by brands like Tecno, Samsung, and Infinix.
The question now is whether Fulgo will break through and establish a stronghold in one of the world’s fastest-growing mobile markets.
