lumia 610 Windows 7.8

lumia 610 Windows 7.8Nokia has finally made the Windows Phone 7.8 update available for first gen Lumias. These are all the devices that came running Windows 7.5 Mango out of the box. Upgrades will happen all through the month of February, so expectedly there won’t be users in March who will not have seen the Windows upgrade notification globally. They are Lumia 900, Lumia 800, Lumia 710, Lumia 610 and Lumia 510. Some Lumias 510 which went into many markets quite recently have been going boxed in with Windows 7.8.

Windows Phone 7.8 promises ability to resize the live tiles on the home page to get what users on Windows phone 8 already experience. Also coming in with the upgrade is Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth support, Camera Extras, Nokia City lens and Contact share.

For those who were patient enough and hadn’t flashed the devices with official ROMS through other means, we have an upgrade method which is less painful(lets forget the part where you still need to rely on Zune). Upgrading on Macs will be done via Windows Phone app and the process should be easy for the average user with instructions all through. Only do not disconnect device or use it while this happens.  See video below for the upgrade process. Good luck.
