Flous is a mobile money product created from the partnership between MasterCard, National Bank of Egypt and Etisalat. The payment gateway will serve a market of 94 million mobile users over Etisalat mobile network. The project is the first ever interoprable Arabic mobile money program with subscribers making cash deposits and withdrawals through Etisalat and NBE’s branch offices across Egypt. A later phase of the project will allow subscribers to pay for transactions using their mobile phones including payment of bills and services at several merchant locations in Egypt. Subscribers will also benefit from global ecommerce payments through the mobile wallet.
