Equity Bank has appointed Gerald Warui as its fourth Managing Director.
Warui, who has been with the institution as a Director for an extended period will fill in the gap that will be left by Polycarp Igathe who will be heading back to Vivo.
Igathe, whose resignation has since been accepted by the financial institution, will take a newly created role as Vivo Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Africa.
Polycarp has been with Equity Bank for 8 months, a role he took after he resigned as Deputy Governor for Nairobi County.
The appointment of Warui will ensure a smooth transition or roles as Igathe leaves the bank at the end of the month.
Summarily, Warui has been with Equity Bank for 21 years. He holds an impressive set of credentials, including a Master of Business Administration from JKUAT. He is also a Certified Public Accountant CPA (K) and is a graduate of Advanced Management Program offered by IESE Business School, Barcelona, Spain.
