Chipper Becomes AS Roma’s Official Money Transfer Platform for Africa

Italian top flight club AS Roma has announced that cross-border money transfer firm Chipper Cash will be its official Money Transfer Platform in Africa.

The announcement marks the start of Roma’s first commercial partnership in the continent and is grounded in both parties’ commitment to growing football in Africa.

The development starts with a community impact project between the club and Chipper that are making special edition AS Roma x Chipper footballs. The footballs are handmade and can last eight times longer than ordinary synthetic balls.

According to a statement from Chipper, the balls will be distributed to grassroot programs in communities facing disadvantage in Kenya, Ghana, Uganda, Nigeria, and South Africa, as well as through AS Roma’s youth partners in Nigeria.

The balls are being made in partnership with Alive and Kicking, the world’s not-for-profit ball manufacturer and the only ball producer in Africa.

Chipper was founded by in 2018 by Ham Serijogi and Maijid Moujaled. It has sine grown its footprint, and currently operates with a global workforce. Its operations are live in seven African countries.

Chipper’s upper hand continues to be its ability to offer financial services that allow its users to move their money freely at home, and from one country to another.
