Today’s launch of the platform marks Scale’s commitment to using technology solutions to address barriers that have always been observed during ordinary procurement processes, especially for SMEs.

Scale is also Kenya’s first, fully online bid preparation and tender management tool that has been developed by local talent for local businesses that have been skipped over by technology providers.

What’s more, Scale will ensure that all SMEs are able to bid with confidence to drive economic inclusion through participation in procurement activities.

At the moment, Scale is looking forward to helping more than 1.6 million SMEs in the country that have been undergoing the aforementioned issues.

Scale also says that the platform has signed up more than 3300 businesses to manage their tendering.

Moreover, Scale is subscription-based, and can be accessed online at any time. According to the firm, the system has been designed to minimize bidding errors that are often commonplace with manual tendering.

This will see that the whole process is shortened, and eliminates the need for cumbersome paperwork. It also reduces the amount of fees required to complete tendering processes.

It targets all entrepreneurs and businesses doing business with the national and county governments, the private sector, multinationals and NGOs in Kenya, to mention a few. They can visit and access key services for free in the first 30 days.

Tendering, by its nature, has traditionally demanded significant time and costly resources in the preparation and compilation of the paperwork, making it stressful, complex and expensive for small businesses. We are using technology to fully digitize the process and improve the capacity of these businesses to bid confidently and win more tenders.
