Infinix Note 12 Launch Event

Infinix Note 12 Launch Event

The long-awaited and much-teased Infinix Note 12 series is finally here. Infinix unveiled three models that include the entry-level Note 12 and the performance variants Note 12(G96) and the ultimate Note 12 VIP.

The midrange lineup was officially unveiled in an elegant event at the Sarit Centre Expo, a trendy and contemporary location in Nairobi that aligns with the brand’s vision and mission.

This was their first official product launch in 2022 since the Infinix Note 10 that launched in Diani last year.

The Infinix Note 12 series brings with it 6.7″ FHD+ AMOLED screens. The best is saved for the VIP version that ships with a 10-bit panel with 100% DCI-P3 coverage, 120Hz refresh rate and 360Hz touch sampling rate screen.

Helio processors run the show here with the G88 powering the regular Note 12 while its siblings pack the G96 but with different layouts.

There are tiny tweaks Infinix added as the processor on the VIP version has 9 layers of graphene cooling and a vapour chamber while the G96 version lacks the vapour chamber and has 10 layers of graphene cooling.

When it comes to photography, we get a 50MP triple camera setup that includes a 2MP depth sensor and an additional VGA camera for the regular Note 12 and the G96 version.

The really good stuff is saved for the Infinix Note 12 VIP version. It gets a 108MP triple setup accompanied by a 13MP ultrawide and a 2MP depth camera and Laser Detection Auto Focus.

16MP front-facing cameras sit housed in the centre punch-hole for selfies in all three models.

Android 12 and XOS 10.6 power all the Note 12 series. They all ship with 8GB of RAM and 5GB of virtual RAM. Included is UFS 2.2 storage.

The Note 12i will have 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, the Note 12(G96) will ship with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage and the Note 12 VIP comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

The Infinix Note 12 and the Infinix Note 12(G96)  come with a 5000mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging. The Infinix Note 12 VIP version has a 4500mAh battery and support for 120W HyperCharge.

Ultra-fast charging has come to the midrange lineup and is no longer a concept. You can juice up the Infinix Note 12 VIP from empty to 100% in 20 minutes, Infinix says that they added 103 protection features to ensure safe charging. These features are on the charging brick and the phone with 18 temperature sensors.

To help achieve fast-charging capabilities, they incorporated a dual-charge pump and dual-cell battery. This enables the Infinix Note 12 VIP to adjust the voltage and amperage to the optimal ratio, as well as doubles the available input.

Infinix continues to say that the Note 12 VIP’s charge cycle counts up to 800 with up to 85% battery capacity retained. Also, the 120W HyperCharge is certified by the TüV Rheinland Safe Fast-Charge System certification.

The phones will be thin featuring aerospace-grade ultra-thin glass fibre material with the texture of glass and the strength of carbon fibre. The regular Note 12 and the G96 version sitting at 7.8mm thick while the VIP version sits at 7.89mm thick and weighs 199 grams.
