At a press conference on Monday, ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna stated that they have experienced over 1,000 online attacks on their signature collection website.
“We have had over 1,000 attacks on our website that are being used for collection of signatures.”
“They are crying and saying the signature drive is going nowhere, but they are actively sabotaging the collection of signatures,” he said.
Moreover, the ODM secretary general claims that the website has also been cloned in order to mislead Azimio supporters.
On 11th July, Azimio leader Raila Odinga launch the website for the collection of 10 million signatures in an effort to get public support for their aggressive campaign against the Kenya Kwanza administration.
“This is part of the campaign of resistance, the civil disobedience and citizens’ actions that we have decided to pursue to force Ruto and his regime to respect and listen to the people,” Raila said.
The website was meant to assist the manual collection of signatures which by last Friday had accumulated 1.2 millions signatures.
