Airtel Money per transcation limit is KES 250,000

Airtel Money has increased the limit a user can transact in one instance. Henceforth, Airtel Money users can transact upto KES 250,000 at a go. This is an increase of Ksh 100,000 from the previous KES 150,000 per transaction limit.

The new limit comes into effect from tomorrow 1st September 2023. Airtel indicates that the change comes after successful engagements with the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK).

Furthermore, the review is not a surprise following the increase of daily transaction limits from KES 300,000 to KES 500,000. That review was announced 2 weeks ago after approval by CBK. Airtel Money rival’s M-Pesa also reviewed their daily limit but have yet to review their per transaction limit.

Airtel Money Maintains Same Charges

Clients should take note that transaction charges for this band shall remain similar to those that were previously charged in the KES 70,001 – KES 150,000 band. Airtel deems this move important in giving their clients more flexibility without extra costs.

“The incorporation of the 150,001 – 250,000 band of transactions without any further transaction charges is part of our strive to empower our customers with flexible and personalized solutions while at the same time delivering to them exceptional value for their money. That signifies our commitment towards convenience and affordability,” said Airtel Money Kenya MD Anne Kinuthia

Previously, clients have been known to break large transactions into multiple smaller transactions. The new increase limit will help erase this huddle.

Airtel anticipates the move will be welcomed by individuals and businesses alike in their day to day transactions.
