JKIA Jomo Kenyatta International Airport Parking Rates

Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) is the main airport for Nairobi, the busiest and the largest airport in Kenya, serving most destinations in the world. It is managed by the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA), a national government body but autonomous.

With over 40 passenger airlines, as one of the international getaways in the region and home to the top-rated airline Kenya Airways, JKIA, which is also the largest airport in East Africa, handles a vast passenger volume, both domestic and international.

In 2022, JKIA recorded passenger numbers of over 10 million, an impressive influx from the 6.7 million traffic welcomed in 2021 as borders reopened following almost a two-year closure due to COVID-19.

People travel for different reasons like work, to meet family, leisure, and other needs. If you find yourself with a flight to catch at JKIA, it is wise to make adequate preparations because organizing a successful travel is never an easy feat as it goes beyond flights, accommodation, food, and drinks.

Before hopping on a flight, you must travel to the airport. Many people prefer to drive themselves to the airport and leave their cars parked at short-stay and long-stay airport parking lots rather than taking ride-hailing cabs and taxis, which are often associated with inflated unreasonable costs.

If you choose to drive yourself to JKIA, it is better to know its parking fees beforehand for informed decision-making and cost analysis in terms of budget:

Here’s what it costs to park at JKIA

Jomo Kenyatta International Airport – JKIA – has a good number of parking spaces to accommodate significant numbers of cars at a time. There are express (closest to the terminals) and remote lots a walking distance from departure lounges.

Express parking lots tend to be more expensive than those in undesignated areas because of their convenient location, close to entry and exit points, and there are covered and uncovered ones. For 20 – 30 minutes of parking time at JKIA casual access lots, you will pay Ksh250, a difference of Ksh100 from that of the undesignated area, which is Ksh150 to park for 30 minutes to an hour.

Oversized vehicle parking for buses and trucks is also available at the airport, and its rates start at Ksh150. Check out JKIA’s latest parking fees;

These are the charges for parking vehicles at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport’s Parking Garage, Terminal 2, and Cargo Area. The cost of parking per day is Ksh1,000 for saloon cars and other small-sized models and Ksh1,250 for buses and trucks.
