Pricey iPhone 14 Pro Max Highest Selling Phone as Apple and Samsung Dominate

iPhone 14 Pro Max takes Apple to top

The iPhone 14 Pro Max is the most shipped phone across the world this year. The model released last September, is selling for between $1,099 to $1,599. For contrast, the recently released iPhone 15 price from base model to the most expensive model is between $799 to $1599.

Despite global economic downturn, slumping smartphone sales, the iPhone 14 Pro Max proved popular in the first half of this year. According to Smartphone Model Market Tracker Omdia, Apple sold a total of a total of 26.5 million units of the model.

Apple is now the world’s most valuable company at $2.75 trillion valuation. Smartphones sales data show why it is at the top with the Apple iPhone 14 Pro taking second position and iPhone models closing out top four.

Apple phones tend to more expensive on average than most phone brands in the market. However, that fact did not stop Apple from dominating the top ten with 5 models in the top ten.

In what is a display of a Market share dominated by two top range brands, the other phone models in the top ten are from Samsung.

Huawei New Model Expected to Boost Sales

Data from the second half of 2022 saw Chinese brand Xiaomi have two models in the top ten. However, this year’s first half result has no Chinese brand.

Looking forward, there is an expected growth in sales from Chinese brand Huawei. Market data reveals Huawei market share has increased to 17%. This is however, share of the domestic Chinese market. The growth in Huawei sales saw it overtake Xiaomi.

The Huawei Mate 60 is expected to give the brand a strong finish to the year. This is coupled by the recent partial ban on iPhones by the Chinese government.

Huawei’s Mate 60 Pro with Kirin 9000s chip made in China by the partly state-owned Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corp (SMIC). A Chinese made Silicon chip with 5G capabilities has stirred the market. This is bound to give the company strong sales especially in the home market.
