Spotify is making it easier for you to add another account and switch between accounts with fewer steps.
Following a new update, the music streaming platform now supports adding multiple accounts and will provide a simple way to switch between saved accounts.
“We’re happy to announce that the option to switch between accounts is being implemented. We’ll start with Android mobile devices and tablets. Remember this is slowly being rolled out for everyone, so if you don’t see it now, just make sure to keep your app up to date,” a post on Spotify’s Community forum reads.
The feature has long been requested by users who manage multiple accounts daily: a look at Spotify’s community forum shows posts dating back to 2019 requesting such a feature.
Previously, switching between accounts required one to log off from one and log in to another account – quite tiring. With the new update, the music platform will now let you switch accounts by simply tapping the profile you want to use.
The new Add Account feature has been slowly rolling out since last month to Spotify users on both free and Premium plans. After updating my app, I was able to run two accounts and seamlessly switch between them – just for fun.
