IEEE, Kenya chapter of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers is the latest institution to partner with AITEC Africa for the upcoming  AITEC Africa ICT Summit to be held later this month. IEEE signed to showcase the institution’s latest technology innovations in line with the theme of the summit that is “Smarter Cities”. AITEC Africa ICT 2012 Summit has attracted a lot of regional interest for the focus on Smarter Cities, Smarter Societies and Smarter Enterprises. According to Vincent Kaabunga, head of IEEE’s Kenya Chapter pictured above with AITEC Africa’s Sean Moroney, the Institute has new, relevant and market ready technology innovations and inventions with a potential to impact the region in a smart way with benefits felt in the economy. Vincent and crew want the region to conceptualize what electrical and electronic engineers  in the region have been up to.

IBM, KPMG and Deloitte are among the the four other multinationals that will be showcasing smart city technologies and systems at the summit. These organizations are developing and providing consulting for smart city technologies. Showcases on the Ghana Cyber City and Konza Techno City are also expected at the summit.
