Windows 8 will soon be getting Metro Firefox browser. This is said to be coming out on the 10th of December according to The Register who say that Mozilla Firefox planners have a date for the browser launch. This will be Firefox 26 (I think these guys need to get another naming system, will we do that when we reach Firefox 226?).
Firefox 26 will work on desktops as usual and also be optimised for Microsoft Touchbased Surface Tablets. This will be right in time when Microsoft will have rolled out Windows 8.1 to existing and new Windows 8 users to even include the start button that has been missed by many. Oh, and the start screen that made things oh so easy to find before Windows 8 boxed it’s way in.
