Blackberry is not out of the woods yet, not with the recent profit warnings (USD 84 million loss), dismal sales within the first half of the year and a loss of 4 million of it’s user-base to rival device platforms Apple and Samsung mainly. But Industry insiders have it that Blackberry may be onto a good second half of the year.
According to Digitimes, the industry insider has it that Blackberry 10 device sales may be onto some rise come second half. Blackberry has experienced growth in their device sales from Q1 at 6.8 million devices to 7.5 million devices in Q2. This marks a 13% growth within the quarter.
Digitimes also has it that Blackberry 7 device sales account for 60% of total shipments with the Blackberry Q5 that has already hit several markets expected to boost sales. Blackberry Q5 is the mid-range Blackberry 10 device launched after the two high end devices, the Blackberry Q10 and Blackberry Z10 that were launched at the global announcement of the Blackberry 10 OS.
