Startimes Free To Air Set Top Box

Startimes Free To Air Set Top Box

Why hadn’t anyone thought about this? Door to door delivery for Set Top Boxes at a time like this when we Kenyans will tend to be last minute persons and actually realize the digital migration is not a hoax and is coming for you who wasn’t ready with a DVB-T2 Set Top Box. There has been a lot of communication over many months that this was going to happen first in Nairobi before year end and the rest of Kenya by mid 2014.
Now Fred Matiang’i, ICT Cabinet Secretary for Kenya announced that 26th December 2013 will be the last day the Analogue signal will be transmitted in the Nairobi Environs. These include Nairobi, Kiambu, Kerugoya, Embu, Ngong, Rongai, Athi River Machakos, Thika, Makuyu, Kigumo, Kitengela, Isinya, Kajiado and Githunguri.

This means that there is going to be a huge demand for Type approved Set Top Boxes within these regions in the last minute rush, or when people get disconnected. Startimes, beyond ensuring that their Set Top Boxes are available within 5 leading Supermarkets; Tuskys, naivas, Uchumi, Ukwala and Nakumatt and 35 other electronic outlets within Nairobi CBD, have gone a step further and made the process easier for those who will find the travel a bit hectic. Made it easy to order for the Set Top Boxes online ( www.startimes.co.ke/duka)  and have them delivered at your doorstep. Payments are either online via card or offline on delivery.

This will be free within Nairobi but in remote areas there will be a delivery fee of max Kshs 200 and the StarTimes decoders will be available for sale all through the Christmas and New Year’s holiday. This includes the Startimes Head office at Victoria Towers in Upper Hill and five other business centers along Tom Mboya street, Gill House, Buru Buru Business Complex, Westlands and View Point House in Thika which will be open daily from 9am – 6pm daily.
