Google is currently rolling out some sweeping changes to its entertainment and applications store, Google Play. Most of the changes are visual and meant to make Google Play easy to use for everyone. Navigation and content discovery are front and centre.
I noticed something new on the Play Store this morning: there are star ratings right there on the apps page. One no longer has to click on a specific application to see how users have rated it.
The new Play Store is already available to some users and yet to be made available to many more. Of course you can always sideload the apk thanks to APKMirror (even though that doesn’t guarantee that you’ll automatically get the new layout as that is a server side update) or just be patient and wait. The star rating should be available to everyone even before the expected big update arrives.
