Huawei is not expected to unveil its upcoming flagship smartphone, the P9, at the Mobile World Congress next week. However, that has not stopped the excitement building around the device. Several images purported to be of the device surfaced on Chinese social networking site Weibo and all but confirmed what has been making rounds in the rumour mill for a while now.
As per the leaked images above, the Huawei P9 will have a camera sensor at the back with dual lenses as Huawei seeks to better its best. Huawei’s most recent devices have some of the best cameras and the Chinese device maker will clearly be making an attempt to justify picking up a P9 over say, last year’s P8.
Besides the 12-megapixel camera, the Huawei P9 is also expected to sport the new Kirin 955 chipset, pack 4 GB of RAM and retain the crispy full HD IPS panels that Huawei’s premium smartphones have become famous for. The battery will be getting a boost from the 2,680mAh unit on the P8 to a 2,900mAh one. The P9 will also be the first device in Huawei’s premium P series to have a fingerprint sensor which will be at the back, right below the camera, as is the case in the Mate 8.
As earlier rumoured, the Huawei P9 is expected to arrive in at least four variants.
