Galaxy S7 Edge Leak Shows Full Front, More Images Suggest No USB Type-C Coming

There is no shortage of leaks, rumours, hearsay and everything you can imagine on Samsung’s upcoming 2016 flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S7. The latest leak, an image that appeared on Twitter not long ago, shows us for the first time the Galaxy S7 Edge in greater detail and with the lock screen in place as well.

Have a look:

Earlier leaked images of the Galaxy S7/S7 Edge show that Samsung will not be packing the device with USB Type-C. Samsung is sticking with a microUSB port for charging and data transfer needs. One of the features of Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which the Galaxy S7 will run on, is support for the new USB Type-C standard which has several advantages including faster data transfer speeds and more efficient power transmission than the microUSB.

Besides the much-publicized return of the microSD slot for memory expansion purposes and waterproofing, the Galaxy S7, like the LG G5, is also expected to have an “always-on” display.

The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge will be unveiled on Sunday, 21st February in Barcelona, Spain.
