Earlier leaked images of the Galaxy S7/S7 Edge show that Samsung will not be packing the device with USB Type-C. Samsung is sticking with a microUSB port for charging and data transfer needs. One of the features of Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which the Galaxy S7 will run on, is support for the new USB Type-C standard which has several advantages including faster data transfer speeds and more efficient power transmission than the microUSB.

Besides the much-publicized return of the microSD slot for memory expansion purposes and waterproofing, the Galaxy S7, like the LG G5, is also expected to have an “always-on” display.

The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge will be unveiled on Sunday, 21st February in Barcelona, Spain.
