So, yes, Huawei won’t be releasing the Mate 9 (or was it going to be the Mate S2?) at IFA 2016 in Berlin. What are we getting instead? Probably a smartphone codenamed Nova made with just women in mind. Or so goes the rumour mill.
While we don’t know the specifics of that smartphone, chances are that it will show up in good company, it won’t be alone. Apparently, Huawei has two smartphones slated for unveiling this week at IFA 2016 if the invites it sent out to sections of the tech media are anything to go by.
The above invites show that the unreleased smartphones really aren’t at the high level that the Mate belongs to. Why do I say so? Well, if anything, we expect all top-of-the-line Huawei smartphones to have the dual-camera setup heralded by the P9 and if the above invites are anything to go by, the two new devices won’t have any of that.
UPDATE (30th August 2016)
We have some unconfirmed names from a usually reliable source:
Huawei Nova, Nova Plus, and MediaPad M3 launching at IFA.
