Group Stories is a feature Facebook introduced nine months ago and it being shut down late this week. This feature allowed Facebook group members and administrators to post photos and videos that disappeared after 24 hours. It looks like despite being popular on individual Facebook profiles and Instagram, Stories didn’t do well on Groups.
Facebook is killing Stories in Groups!
The feature will be removed from ALL groups on Sept 26

It was reported on Friday and Facebook confirmed this saying: “We’re sunsetting group stories because we want to make sure that features in groups enable people to connect in fun and useful ways, and we’re always looking at ways to improve the overall experience for communities on Facebook.”
The giant social media company will put to rest Group Stories on Thursday 26th 4pm local time and users will not be able to post any new Group Stories. Existing ones will also be deleted on Thursday.
Stories boast having over 500 million daily active users across each Facebook app including Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp Status. Snapchat which launched the Stories feature now has about 190 million active users.
I doubt anyone will miss Group Stories but I may be wrong.
