Smartphone season is picking up for next year and here’s everything we know about the OPPO Reno 5 series that succeed that recently launched OPPO Reno 4 series and the OPPO Reno 3 series form early this year.

The OPPO Reno 5 series will reportedly be using three sets of processors – Snapdragon 870 which is an overclocked Snapdragon 865, Snapdragon 765G and Dimensity 1000+.

The Dimensity 1000+ chipset is expected to feature on the OPPO Reno 5 Pro 5G[OPPO PDST00 on Geeekbench].

The regular OPPO Reno 5[OPPO PEGM00 on Geeekbench] will probably feature the Snapdragon 765G processor.

Another thing we also know is that both phones will ship with Android 11 and ColorOS 11 out of the box with either 8GB or 12GB of RAM.

We also expect a 6.43″ high refresh rate OLED display. It is unknown if OPPO will use a 90Hz or 120Hz panel.

We also see a punchhole cutout for the 32MP selfie camera.

The Pro model will have a curved display just like its older siblings – the OPPO Reno 3 Pro and OPPO Reno 4 Pro.

Powering the OPPO Reno 5 will be a 4300mAh battery with fast 65W wired charging.

OPPO Reno 5 will also weigh 172g.

In terms of optics, we expect that OPPO will bring a 64MP quad camera setup with 8MP ultrawide and two 2MP cameras.

OPPO Reno 5 5G series will launch in late December or early January in China before a global launch at a later date.
