OPPO A54 and OPPO A74 have been officially launched in the country. These are the company’s latest midrange smartphones in the Kenyan market.

OPPO A54

OPPO A54 features a 6.5″ LCD display with a punch-hole cutout on the top left.

OPPO A54 comes running Android 10 and ColorOS 7.2. The smartphone is due to get updated to ColorOS 11 and Android 11.

For photography, we a have 16MP selfie camera in the cutout and a 13MP triple setup at the back that includes a 2MP depth and 2MP macro lens.

OPPO A54 also supports filming videos including SLO-MO at 720P at 90FPS with the rear camera, and up to 10 video Filters including Original, Gentle, Noon, Subtle and more.

We also get a 5000mAh battery and 18W fast USB Type-C charging.

OPPO A54 is IPX4 waterproof certified.

OPPO A54 comes in two colours, Crystal Black and Starry Blue.

OPPO A74

OPPO A74 features a 6.43″ AMOLED display with the same punch-hole cutout on the top left as the OPPO A54.

OPPO A74 ships with Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 processor together with 6GB of RAM and 128GB onboard storage.

OPPO A74 comes running Android 11 and ColorOS 11 straight out of the box.

In terms of optics, OPPO A74 ships with 48MP triple camera setup with a 2MP macro and 2MP depth sensor.

Users will have a larger range of options to enhance or highlight photos, whether capturing a portrait, your daily life, or textures. The AI Scene Enhancement is able to intelligently recognize what the camera is looking at, and will automatically brighten or improve the look of a shot, whether it’s of plants, landscapes, food, flowers, beach, sunrise and sunsets, or other scenarios.

Photos taken in the evening or in a dimly lit environment can also be instantly improved with Night Mode to boost the clarity of nighttime shots.

A 16MP camera on the front of the phone is OPPO A74’s AI Selfie Camera that manages to capture more life-like and clearer selfies.

To capture beautiful shots, OPPO A74 is not only designed for photography. It boasts video filming features to make it easy to capture footage that you can quickly edit and share. For stabilized video, Steady Video films in 30FPS at 1080 or 720p.

Slow-motion videos can be filmed with SLO-MO in 720p at 120FPS. If your photo library is filled with your latest memories, you can stitch it all together with OPPO A74’s video editing app, Soloop.

In just one tap you can instantly create a video matched to the music. Soloop is like having a director, screenwriter, and editor in the palm of your hands.

OPPO A74 offers high-end performance, but only weighs about 175g and is only 7.95mm thin, while also managing to feature a 3D curved back cover for a comfortable grip.
