Twitter Blue Expands to More Countries

Twitter Blue

UPDATE 2: Twitter Blue has now expanded to several countries outside of Canada including New Zealand, Australia and the U.S. on Android, iOS and the web.

UPDATE: Twitter Blue, the company’s premium subscription service is now live in Canada( $3.49 CAD) and Australia($4.49 AUD).

Twitter is on its way to diversify its sources of revenue. The company has been working on new features and subscription products for its 199 million daily active users.

The giant social network is now close to launching Twitter Blue, its new paid monthly subscription service. Listings on the Apple Store recently revealed the app’s changelog.

For $2.99, here are some of the features you will be getting:

Undo Tweets

We won’t be able to edit tweets, at least for now.

However, Twitter Blue will offer users the ability to undo tweets. Twitter will have a “Undo send” timer for tweets.

Collections

Collections is one of the features I’m looking forward to once Twitter Blue goes live. This feature will bring order to your bookmarks just like Instagram’s integration.

You will be able to save and organize your favorite tweets into collections so that they are easier to find later.

Users can now create colour-coded sub-folders to easily access them at a glance.

Reader Mode

Twitter Blue will have a Reader Mode to make reading long threads easier by turning them into an easy-to-read text format.

Twitter Blue Subscribers will be able to see a button that will let them change the screen to show you long-form text.

You also have the option to quit the Reader Mode to scroll through the thread.

Colour Themes

Users on the paid service will be able to choose themes for how the app looks on their phones.

Colours provided include: Blue, Yellow, Red, Purple, Orange and Green.

Custom App Icon

Apart from colour themes, you can also change how the twitter icon looks.

Twitter confirms “Twitter Blue”, which costs $2.99 per month by publicly including such In-App Purchase on the App Store

For testing, I’ve become the first paying Twitter Blue customer 😅

Dedicated Customer Support

Twitter Blue subscribers will also have access to dedicated customer support.

Scroll intergration

Twitter recently acquired Scroll, a $5 monthly subscription service that let readers get ad-free access to hundreds of websites including G/O Media(Gizmodo, Kotaku), The Atlantic, Vox Media, Buzzfeed news.

It did this by partnering up with a bunch of publishers to remove the ads in exchange for a part of the subscription fee.

Tony Haile, former Scroll CEO posted on Twitter that they’ll be integrating into a broader Twitter subscription later in the year to offer subscribers a clutter-free news reading experience.

Tony Haile (@arctictony), former CEO of Scroll (now part of Twitter) has mentioned it’ll be “integrated into a broader Twitter subscription” in the acquisition announcement tweet,

confirming that Twitter Blue (or other tiers) will include the clutter-free news-reading experience https://t.co/qkLTumQLCs

We’ll update you with more information as it becomes available.
