TECNO has officially unveiled the first of its new Camon 18 series smartphones – the TECNO Camon 18 Premier. The Camon 18 series succeeds the Camon 17 series from early this year and as expected in this camera-focussed series, TECNO has new photography tricks and upgrades up its sleeve which we’ll get to below.
First things first, the display gets upgraded to AMOLED at 6.7″ plus also upgrading its refresh rate from 90Hz to 120Hz with FHD+ resolution.
In terms of brightness, TECNO Camon 18 Premier rocks up to 550 nits.
There’s a 32MP centred punch-hole selfie camera. It’s a downgrade from the 48MP selfie camera of its predecessor.
And as we’ve seen with midrange models launched this year, TECNO went with a flat designed smartphone and squared-off edges with the Camon 18 Premier.
As we had reported earlier, TECNO Camon 18 Premier rocks Helio G96 processor together with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage.
We have HiOS 8 and Android 11 powering the smartphone.
The centre of attraction is the 64MP triple camera setup at the back that now has a 64MP main sensor alongside a 12MP optically stabilised gimbal camera and an additional 8MP periscope lens just like the Infinix Zero X Pro – its sibling from Infinix that also touts a periscope lens.
The persiocpe lens like its brother boasts of 5X optical zoom and 60X digital zoom. And yes, TECNO brought in its own Moon Probe feature alongside other camera features such as super night mode, night portrait video and portrait video mode.
TECNO Camon 18 Premier ships with a 4750mAh battery and support for 33W fast Type-C charging.
We’ll also have a headphone jack, side-mounted fingerprint sensor and NFC support.
TECNO Camon 18 Premier will come in Vast Sky and Polar Night colours.
Local pricing details and availability will shared when that information is available to us.
