Infinix Zero 30 5G Camera Review

The Zero 30 5G and the Galaxy A54 are some of the best smartphones from Infinix and Samsung respectively. Both phones were launched this year and here’s how they compare.

Infinix Made the Zero 30 5G Too Good

UNBOXING

The Zero 30 has a TPU case, a 68W charger, and a Type-C charging cable while the Galaxy A54 comes with a white charging cable with both ends being Type-C and a sim ejector tool. You’ll have to buy a charger and a case separately.

DESIGN

The two phones look really good with their premium designs. The A54 comes in Lime, Graphite, White and Violet while the Zero 30 comes in Rome Green, Golden Hour and Fantasy Purple.

While all Samsung and Infinix phones have glass backs, the Rome Green version has an eco-leather back instead.

Both phones opt for Corning Gorilla Glass 5 to protect their displays but Samsung extends the same protection to the back. The glass-back versions of the Zero 30 come with no protection.

Both phones come with IP rating with Samsung sporting IP67 water and dust resistance while Infinix has an IP53 rating.

All two phones have dual nano-SIM, dual microphones and stereo speakers. They also have optical under-display fingerprint readers.

The A54 sports a smaller 6.4-inch 1080P SuperAMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support and 403ppi density.

The Zero 30 has a bigger 6.78-inch curved vibrant AMOLED display which comes with a 144hz refresh rate and 360Hz touch sampling rate. It also has a peak brightness of 950 nits and supports HDR10.

Both screens are really bright and really good and will serve you well for – scrolling social media, browsing the web or watching content on them. The size option will be your preference.

PERFORMANCE

Zero 30 has a Dimensity 8020 chipset, 21GB of RAM(12GB Onboard and 9GB Virtual) and 256GB of storage. It also has Android 13 and XOS 13.1.

The A54 has Exynos 1380 chipset paired with 6/8GB RAM and 128/256GB storage. It comes with Android 13 and OneUI 5.1.

Infinix takes the lead here rocking a much better and faster processor not only in real life but also with synthetic benchmarks. Zero 30 scores 635016 on Antutu against the A54’s 506678. Geekbench scores put the Zero 30 ahead at 3122 while the A54 scores 2797.

Samsung redeems itself with its update cycle as the A54 is upgradeable to 4 years of major Android OS updates and 5 years of security patches.

@techweez

Infinix Zero 30 5G is a beast! It’s got a 108MP triple rear camera, a 50MP selfie camera, 4K 60fps video recording, a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED 10-bit screen, a 144Hz refresh rate, a Dimensity 8020 processor, and 21GB of RAM. It’s also got IP53 water and dust resistance, stereo speakers, dual microphones, face unlock, and an in-display fingerprint reader. CAMERAS

The Zero 30 has a 108MP primary camera with object image stabilization, a 13 MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro. At the front is a 50MP selfie camera.

All the cameras including the front-facing camera shoot shoot 4K 60fps video.

Infinix Zero 30 5G Review

The A54 has a triple setup as well led by a 50MP main with OIS, a 12MP ultrawide and a 5MP macro. We also get a 32MP selfie camera. Video recording is capped at 4K 30fps for the main and selfie cameras.

Both phones are more than capable for photos and videos and I have to give it to Infinix as we get 4K 60fps video on both front and main camera videos. The quality, brightness, colour saturation and sharpness of the videos is incredible and you can now comfortably vlog using the front camera of the Zero 30.

I even captured a vlog shot on 4K and you can watch it below

BATTERY LIFE

Both phones have 5000mAh batteries with different charging speeds. Zero 30 supports 68W fast charging while the A54 supports

25W wired charging(You’ll need a 25W Samsung charger to get these speeds).

A 30-minute charge will get you from empty to 72% with the Zero 30 and to 56% with the A54.

The fast charging gives the Zero 30 an edge over the A54.

PRICING AND AVAILABILITY

Infinix is selling the Zero 30 5G for around Ksh 55,000 and the phone is available at their retail stores, and online as well.

Samsung A54 goes for Ksh 62,995 at their official brandcart online store, Ksh 63,999 on Jumia, Ksh 64,499 on Kilimall and Ksh 59,999 on PhonePlace Kenya.

VERDICT

Both phones go blow for blow and are quite impressive. They tie in most categories with the Zero 30 taking the lead in performance, cameras and charging. The price is also competitive as seen above and it so easy to recommend the Zero 30 over the A54.
