Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 and Z Fold5 Review Techweez

Samsung usually holds two Galaxy Unpacked events each year – one to announce its flagship smartphones and the other to focus on its foldable devices.

The company’s first Galaxy Unpacked this year saw them announce the Samsung Galaxy S24 series and it happened a little bit earlier than expected and the second Unpacked is also happening a lot sooner. And now we have a solid date and location for the second Galaxy Unpacked this year.

Samsung will be in Paris on July 10th to announce their shiny new foldable smartphones in the Z series among other devices. The smartphones that are expected to debut in two months are the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6. It’s worth noting that the Z Fold5 and Z Flip5 were launched in late July as opposed to the usual early August.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 & Z Fold5 Reviews: Hardware & Software Elegance

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 will have a few tweaks and improvements such as changes to the outer display’s aspect ratio to make it wide and more practical. It will likely have a titanium chassis like the S24 series and use brighter screens. It will have the same improved three-part hinge as the Z Fold5 for a zero-gap closure.

It will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and have 12/16GB RAM, UFS 4.0 storage and a relatively bigger battery with the same charging speeds. It will launch running Android 14 and OneUI 6.1.1 plus other big-screen features alongside Galaxy AI.

Cameras will probably stay the same – a 50MP GN3 main lens, a 12MP ultrawide and a 3X telephoto lens.

Not a lot of changes are expected on the Z Flip6 too. We expect the same large Flex Window, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, and a larger battery with fresh colour options like Yellow, Light Blue, Light Green and Silver.

Our in-depth reviews of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 and Z Flip5 are up on techweez.com – check the link in our bio. The Samsung Galaxy Z foldables now come with improved hinges, better screens, better cameras, faster processors and an overall refined design for both the Z Fold5 and Z Flip5. Samsung is working with strategic third-party partners like ABSA Kenya, Badili, and Watu Simu to make the phones more accessible through their various device financing plans at Samsung’s Experience Stores. #JoinTheFlipSide #GalaxyZFold5 #GalaxyZFlip5

Like its foldable sibling, we expect Android 14, OneUI 6.1.1 and Galaxy AI. The cameras will probably stay the same as well.

Besides the foldable devices, Samsung may take this opportunity to unveil the Galaxy Ring.
