Samsung took to the stage earlier today to announce new devices in its Galaxy Unpacked event in Seoul, South Korea. New foldable, smartwatches and tablets got launched and here’s everything you need to know.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5
The Z Flip5 took all the attention as it was the most anticipated device. It comes running Android 13 and One UI 5.1.1 upgradeable all the way to Android 17.
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy powers the clamshell-style foldable coupled with 8GB of RAM and an additional 5GB of Virtual RAM with either 128GB or 256GB storage.
The Z Flip5 comes with a 3700mAh battery and 25W charger.
The biggest change was the new hinge that lets the phone close completely and a new large cover screen sitting at 3.4 inches.
The inner display remains at a 6.7-inch OLED screen
The waterdrop hinge means that the Flip5 has a slimmer and flatter design. It has IPX8 rating.
The cover screen now supports more widgets, mini-apps and access to a full keyboard.
At the back are two 12MP dual cameras – a wide with OIS support and an ultrawide.
A 10MP selfie camera sits at the front of the 6.7-inch inner screen.

It comes in various colours including Mint, Lavender and Graphite and Cream
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5
Like the Z Flip5, the Fold5 has the same waterdrop hinge that allows for a zero-gap when closed.
The crease is still there but less visible.
It comes running on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy. It also has 12GB RAM and UFS 4.0 storage options including 256GB, 512GB and 1TB. Android 13 powers the phone with One UI 5.1.1 upgradeable all the way to Android 17.
It has a 7.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED(2X) inner display sporting a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. The outer screen is a 6.2-inch Dynamic AMOLED(2X) screen with the same 120Hz refresh rate and has Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection.
The brightness has been increased to 1750 nits.

For photography, we get a 50MP(with OIS) triple main setup which includes a 12MP telephoto with OIS and 3X optical zoom and a 12MP ultrawide. The Z Fold5 has a 4MP under display and a 10MP selfie camera on the cover screen.
Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint reader, IPX8 rating and stereo speakers.
Under the hood is a 4400mAh battery that supports 25W wired charging, 15W wireless charging and 4.5W reverse wireless charging.

Galaxy Tab S9 Series
The Tab S9 series are all powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy like the new foldables. They come with 12GB RAM and storage options starting at 128GB with the option to expand via microSD cards.
Samsung switched up the displays as they will have AMOLED screens with the S9 Ulta rocking a 14.6 Dynamic AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate.
The base S9 has an 11-inch screen while the Plus has a 12.4-inch screen.
They come with an IP68 rating even for the S Pen and a quad-speaker setup.
An 11,200mAh battery runs the tablet. The base model has a 8400mAh battery while the Plus has a 10,900mAh battery.
We have a notch for its 12MP dual front-facing cameras – a wide and an ultrawide.
At the back we have a dual setup as well – a 13MP wide and an 8MP ultrawide which is an improvement over the 6MP ultrawide from last year.
Galaxy Watch 6 Series
Samsung brought back the physical rotating bezel for the Watch 6 Classic The Watch 6 series comes in two sizes – 43mm and 47mm in sporting a stainless steel case. The Classic comes in 40mm and 44mm sizes in aluminium case.
They come powered by WearOS and One UI 5.1 with support for WhatsApp, Audible and Gmail.
You also get slightly larger sapphire crystal displays.
health tracking features come built in thanks to new and improved sensors for personalized heart rate zones and sleep tracking.

Samsung has opened pre-orders for the new devices starting tomorrow and each pre-order gets a bundle that includes a Watch 5 for the Fold5 and Buds 2 for the Flip5.
