Infinix recently dropped something pretty wild for mobile gamers in India: the Infinix GT 30 Pro 5G. Launched on June 3, the flashy smartphone is aimed at gamers who want their phone to be as flashy as it is efficient.
The most eye-catching feature has to be the Cyber Mecha 2.0 design with customizable LED light panels covering the back. These aren’t just for show either, as they actually respond to what’s happening on your phone.
Incoming calls, charging status, and even in-game events trigger different light patterns. The Blade White version gets white LED panels, while the Dark Flare variant goes full RGB rainbow mode.
Gaming phones live and die by their displays, and Infinix seems to understand this completely. The GT 30 Pro packs a massive 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with 1.5K resolution that cranks up to a smooth 144Hz refresh rate.
The 2,160Hz touch sampling rate means your finger taps register almost instantly, which is crucial when you’re trying to land perfect headshots. With peak brightness hitting 4,500 nits, you won’t be squinting at your screen even under harsh sunlight.
The display also comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection and certifications for low blue light and flicker-free viewing, so your eyes won’t hate you after marathon gaming sessions.
Under the hood, Infinix has stuffed in MediaTek’s Dimensity 8350 Ultimate processor built on a 4nm process. This chipset pairs with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of speedy UFS 4.0 storage.
The phone runs Android 15 with Infinix’s XOS 15 skin on top, and the company promises two years of OS updates plus three years of security patches.
For gaming specifically, there’s the XBoost Gaming Engine doing the heavy lifting, plus an AI-powered vapor cooling system with six layers to keep things from getting toasty.
The GT shoulder triggers respond at 520Hz, giving you that console-like control feel. Reports indicate the phone can even push 120 fps on popular games like BGMI (the Indian version of PUBG), and there’s a dedicated e-sports mode for when things get serious.
Though gaming is clearly the focus, Infinix hasn’t skimped on the camera setup. The main 108-megapixel sensor should handle most photography needs, backed up by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens for group shots or landscape captures. There’s also a 13-megapixel front camera to take care of selfies and video calls.
In the power department, Infinix has packed a 5,500mAh battery. The included 45W charger should get you back to your gaming session quickly, and there’s even 30W wireless charging if you prefer going cable-free.
The GT 30 Pro also supports reverse charging (10W wired and 5W wireless), in case you need to juice up your earbuds or smartwatch in a pinch.
Infinix is also throwing in the GT Gaming Kit, which includes a MagCase and cooling fan for those really intense gaming sessions. At 188 grams and measuring just under 8mm thick, it’s reasonably portable despite all the tech packed inside.
The Infinix GT 30 Pro 5G starts at ₹24,999 (~ KES 38,000) for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage version, while the top-spec 12GB RAM model costs ₹26,999 (~ KES 41,000).
There’s no news yet on when the device will be launched in Kenya, but given the popularity of its predecessor, the GT 20 Pro (you can check out our review here), we can expect it to arrive soon. We’ll keep you updated as more information becomes available.
