Mi-fone is now known for being the device vendor that targets the entry level market with good devices and even better prices. They have been selling Android devices at below 10,000 price point and affording to put in more features than counterparts on the same price point. Today they announce 3 new devices in the market, all android and also at a very good price for the features they have bundled in. The devices are the Mi-A200, Mi-A303 and Mi-A400 codenamed SAWA Touch.
The Mi-A400 or SAWA Touch is one device that is different from the other offerings they have had. Globally, Android 2.3 Gingerbread takes the lion’s share of out of the box sales and also install base on Android phones, even having been made available in 2010. Android ICS 4.0 and 4.1 Jelly Bean have since been made available and gone mainstream. In the low end, it’s quite hard to get devices sell running Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 or later, which is why the 4 inch screen SAWA Touch is quite special.
This device has a 5MP rear camera and a front VGA, a 1GHz processor, 10.5 mm thin and weighs 140 grams. Out of the box, you get a 2GB memory card on hardware that supports upto 32GB and 400MB RAM.
Mi-A303
The Mi-303 on theother hand is a 3.5 inch device running Android 2.3 Gingerbread, it dons 514MB ROM and 256MB RAM. The weight is 145grams and a 12.5mm thickness. The camera is a 3MP fixed focus shooter and a 0.3MP front camera.
Mi-A200
Last and least is the Mi-A200, a 2.8 inch screen rocker with Android 2.3 Gingerbread and a processor of 800MHz. The camera is 2MP and a front of 0.3MP. Storage is 200MB with Flash memory of 200MB. All these devices support microSD storage expansion of 32GB.
Pricing for these devices ranges from Kshs 7,000 to 13,000 bob and available at FoneXpress, Tuscom and Naivas stores.
