Like its rival, X, Meta is paying some people when they post on Threads, the company’s text-based social network.
Outside of X, Threads is becoming a major player and just reported that it had 150 million monthly active users and now Meta launched a bonus program for creators on its platform. Meta is testing this limited-time(no detailed long-term plans) and invite-only program, for some creators and has been active since March.
When invited, you will see a pop-up notification in your professional dashboard on the Instagram app.
Unlike X’s program, this program on Threads has individualized bonus requirements and this feature is only available for creator accounts. The requirements to join this program are available during the onboarding process. Invited creators must have a public Threads profile and follow the same creator rules stipulated by Instagram.
Earnings are based on your performance on Threads including post views and have a certain number of posts. Your post on Threads must have more than 2500 views and that content shouldn’t be crossposted from other platforms like TikTok or YouTube. The post shouldn’t also be branded content or paid partnership posts.

Posts need to be authentic, include text, be written in the language allowed in the program, and not be claimed by another rights holder.
To receive a bonus payout, you also need to earn a minimum amount and earnings can be checked in your dashboard. Earnings are paid in the following month.
The bonus program is limited to creators in the U.S. and the company has said it might expand to other countries.
Meta is looking to increase engagement on the Threads platform as it competes with the 3.24 billion users on its other social apps.
