This week TEMS Africa organized their annual ICT expo from 25-26th April at Sarit Centre. Various industry players got a chance to showcase their innovations to the world. In addition, there were panels held over the two days, where experts disseminated the day’s topics. The expo mainly centered around Cyber security, Cloud computing, AI, Blockchain Tech, Smart Tech and E-commerce.
Who stood out?
The digital space in Africa is ever evolving and there are so many individuals and companies entering into the digital space. Here are some of my top picks from the TEMS Africa ICT expo.
Agrivi 360
Agrivi 360 is an innovative Agri-Tech company dedicated to empowering farmers through digital solutions, thereby enhancing their crop yields. A notable feature of the company is its utilization of live satellite technology, enabling farmers to monitor their farms remotely at their convenience. Additionally, Agrivi 360 gathers and analyzes various data points such as weather conditions, temperature, soil acidity, humidity, and overall climate conditions. This data is then utilized to provide personalized recommendations to farmers regarding crop selection and cultivation practices. Through the integration of Artificial Intelligence, Agrivi 360 can forecast potential disasters beforehand, thereby assisting farmers in mitigating risks and optimizing their farming operations.
Prescott Data
Prescott Data is an exciting company that sits on the intersection of AI, cloud computing and data security. According to the company’s CTO and Co-founder Sangalo Mwenyinyo, Prescott Data can help you scale data to the cloud while gaining business insights from it. Prescott Data utilizes Artificial Intelligence in their in-house built, business intelligence tool called InsightMatrix. InsightMatrix simply allows the business to upload its data and it is automatically analyzed by the software and insights are generated. This whole process aids companies and organizations that want to generate insights on their data but do not have a proper data visualization team. The company has been around since 2018.
IceWarp
IceWarp is a pioneering tech company that revolutionizes communication solutions, offering cost-effective hosted email services, cutting-edge video conferencing capabilities for up to 1000 participants, and innovative AI-driven document analysis tools. IceWarp’s hosted email services provide a reliable and affordable solution for businesses seeking efficient communication platforms. With its robust video conferencing feature, IceWarp enables seamless virtual meetings and collaboration on a large scale, empowering teams to connect and collaborate from anywhere in the world. Additionally, IceWarp leverages advanced AI technology to analyze documents in real-time, facilitating faster decision-making processes and enhancing productivity. Furthermore, IceWarp fosters real-time collaboration among users, allowing teams to work together efficiently and effectively on shared documents and projects.
These three organizations stood out particularly as they were offering creative and unique solutions. There were more companies at the Expo and all of them provided a different way to leverage digital solutions, hence helping other businesses to run smoothly. All in all, the summit was a good platform to showcase, network and learn, I look forward to the same event next year on 24-25th April at the same venue.
