Microsoft is alleged to be working on an app to assist newbies in Windows phone who move from Android get an almost similar experience in terms of apps when they get to the tiled environment.The app called “Switch to Windows Phone” will be installed on the Windows phone device and will find replacement apps for the Android apps they used previuosly.
If the app doesn’t find exact replacements it recommends similar ones. Search firm Quixey will power the app which will be searching through the apps-search engine and will use apps description, reviews of apps, known issues and other meta-data to recommend apps to users. Windows phone currently has 135,000 apps. The app will also search based on what a user wants to do, like if they want to cook food the app will recommend recipes apps on the store.
