Even with Nokia going Android soon, Microsoft can’t help trolling the green robot

Here’s the photo tweeted by @MicrosoftStore a few moments ago urging Galaxy S2 owners to ditch their Android-powered devices for a juicy offer on the Microsoft Store, a trade-in with either a Lumia 1520 or the 41 megapixel Lumia 1020:

Trolling Android Microsoft Style

First things first, if you own the Galaxy S2 and live somewhere where this offer is applicable to you (the US) then go for it. Its a good deal. Unless there’s a typographical error in that tweet, the Galaxy S2 is not worth looking at today so the prospect of getting a device as beefy as the Lumia 1520 or as awesome as the camera-centric Lumia 1020 should be enough to excite all your inner passions. [Note: I honestly think there was an error somewhere. That should be the Galaxy S4 at the very least not a 2011 Samsung flagship device that is even way past its support period].

On the other hand…

We know so well how those of us writing things tech have been losing their heads over that rumoured Nokia X device which Nokia has not been shy about teasing it in almost every way it can. Now, Microsoft is Nokia’s current owner so whatever it is that the folks at Store are trolling Android for holds a lot of water. I won’t be so naive to suggest that this is somewhat of a spoiler that our Nokia X hopes will be dashed but I think it is just another day in office for those Microsoft Store guys just before they head out for the weekend before Microsoft’s newest acquisition unveils a device that many never thought would live to see the light of day. Also, take this as a statement: we may go Android but we’ll never go Android. I know that’s ambiguous but come on, open your eyes. It’s the tiled guys.
