Earlier this year, MTN closed a deal with PCCW Global to expand its MPLS VPN service to markets in Europe, N. America and Asia. This allows companies with international operations to conduct their communications seamlessly through MTN’s network. The company is developing more value added services that capitalize on international communication as can be witnessed in its recent partnership with Business Connexion.
The MTN-BCX deal will offer managed network services to enterprise customers. This outsources the customers network operations to MTN who then manage the customer premises equipment and provide the required guarantees on service levels for the network. The service takes advantage of the core services of MTN (as the largest network in Africa) and Business Connexion (as an ICT services company).
