Kenya’s Deputy President’s Twitter account has been compromised by the Anonymous group of hackers. This seems to be a co-ordinated job with a Kenyan group calling themselves Anonymous Kenya.

This comes quite shortly after the twitter accounts of the Kenya Defence Force and the force spokesperson Major Chirchir which have since been recovered after quite a struggle. The group seems quite determined to show how vulnerable the security by the social media team in the Kenya government is.
The compromise was announced with swearing against the Kenya government and a second tweet that revealed what is said to be the VP’s phone number.
[UPDATE] The group has since compromised and defaced three Kenya government websites, the Immigration Website, Western Kenya website and IFMIS website ( the financial management system used by government ministries). This is quite a message here.
Two of these sites are hosted by Kenya Post and Telecommunications Company while the third is hosted by AccessKenya.
