Huawei is looking forward to yet another competitive year after 2014. This year has seen the Chinese company solidify it’s position at third and interest in their smartphones increase. 2015 could be another successful year if they continue with that streak, or not if rivals Lenovo, LG and Xiaomi make good their threats to go up and up.
This year LG announced among others, flagships Ascend P7, Ascend Mate 7 and Ascend G7. It was a 7 year. It gets even more exciting next year as the Ascend Mate 8 is said to hit 2K display and 4GB in RAM going by a leaked product line-up sheet. The sheet reveals 7 devices to be launched in the course of next year. These are 5 inch Ascend 5, 5.5 inch Ascend 5X, 5 inch Ascend 7 and 5.5 inch Ascend 7x. These will be launched starting May all the way to December and they will be the mid range devices with a starting price of $115 for the Ascend 5 and $320 for the Ascend 7.
On the other side we have successor to Ascend P7, the Ascend P8 coming in at 5 inch, Kirin 930 processor, full HD display, 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage. This will be announced in Las Vegas at CES signalling a strong entry to the US market like they did last year with France for Europe. It could come with a $450 price tag. The Ascend Mate 8 is higher with a 6 inch 2K display, Kirin 930 processor, 3GB of RAM an 32GB of internal storage and is expected in September at IFA Berlin with a price tag of around $650.
The Ascend D8 looks like it will have a launch earlier at a separate event, the document shows that the Ascend D8 will launch sometime in May, a 5.5 inch 2K display with a Kirin 950 processor, apparently the most powerful of them all with a 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. This could hit a $800 price tag.
