The last six months has seen a flurry of new devices from Microsoft. From the Lumia 535, Lumia 435, Lumia 532, Lumia 640 and Lumia 640XL. Redmond continues that high pace with the release of the Lumia 540.
The Lumia 540 improves upon the standout features of the Lumia 535. It has a five inch screen at HD resolution (1280×720 pixels) compared to the 960×540 resolution on the 535. It also has a 8MP rear facing camera, which is better than the 5 MP rear camera on its predecessor. The front facing camera is still the wide angle 5MP lens that was used on the 535. It also keeps the Dual SIM capability. The Lumia 540 will come in 4 colors: orange and cyan (which will have the layered finish) and white and black (matte finish). As will all the current Lumia Series, the Lumia 540 will be upgradeable to Windows 10.
The Lumia 540 will be available for under $150 (KES 13,500) before taxes and subsidies. As with the Lumia 535, the Lumia 540 will also come with the full suite of Microsoft services like Office, Sykpe, OneDrive and Xbox Music.
