We all know the leader residing in the White House is a black man but Google Maps is throwing out a new joke. Typing “Nigga House” on Google Maps takes you straight to White House! Apparently someone wants to take the “White” out of White House and replace it with a more realistic view as it is currently.
This is the latest vandalism and abuse to hit the mapping service, which relies on users to help make sure that it’s correct. The abuse, which was first noticed earlier on Wednesday 20th May has raised curiosity and suspicion on the Google Map Maker tool that allows users to edit Google Maps as new roads and landmarks appear.
When asked for comment, a Google spokesperson said, “Some inappropriate results are surfacing in Google Maps that should not be, and we apologize for any offense this may have caused. Our teams are working to fix this issue quickly.”
It is yet to be established how users may have tricked Google’s algorithms into making the mistake. This is not the first time Google Maps has been vandalised. Last month, a drawing of a huge Android urinating on the Apple logo appeared on Google maps that forced Google to temporarily suspend the Map Maker tool.
